As a proud parent of a UNLV student, you may have questions or concerns about your student's progress at the university. We appreciate and understand your willingness to be involved with your student's experience at the university, and we want for you to be aware of your rights and responsibilities as parents.

Below are a number of resources available to you. It is our job as advisors to ensure your student accepts responsibility for his or her education and seeks assistance when needed.

  1. FERPA Learn more about FERPA, the government body that regulates privacy protection to all student education records such as transcripts, grade reports, and most disciplinary files.
  2. Roles and Responsibilities Learn how to best provide support as your student navigates through his or her college education.
  3. UNLV Parents Visit the official university website for parents.
  4. Payments and Academic Calendars Access the university academic calendar and learn about important dates, deadlines, and semester breaks.
