Find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about core requirements for English literature.
- I took an English literature course at another institution titled "American Literature"; will that satisfy my world literature requirement?
No. The English literature requirement is completed by taking a world literature course. At UNLV, the two options are ENG 231: World Literature I, and ENG 232: World Literature II. If you took a course titled "World Literature" at your previous institution and do not see it on your degree worksheet, please bring a description of the course to your advisor, who can fill out the necessary paperwork to see if it will satisfy the requirement if appropriate.
- I'm trying to register for ENG 232 or 231, but I'm having difficulty. What is the prerequisite?
ENG 231 and 232 have prerequisites of ENG 101 and 102. If you have completed these two courses, contact the English Department at 702-895-3533 for additional assistance.
